You may have come across often on the terms Cum-Dividend, Ex-Dividend and Payment Date related to dividends.

Here's what it means.

Let's take an example for ST Engg, the dividend info is extracted from SGX website.

So, this means that if you hold some ST Engg, you will be entitled to the dividends even if you sell off from 20 May 2020 onwards. The dividends will be paid on 29 May 2020.
