In this article, we will explore on where to check the dividends of a Singapore listed stock.
Two methods are quoted here from the SGX website.
METHOD 1: SEARCH UNDER STOCK SCREENER
Go under Securities > Prices & Screeners > Stock Screener:
Search for a stock, say DBS. Then click on Valuation to get the dividend yield:
Then click on Dividends:
METHOD 2: SEARCH UNDER CORPORATE ACTIONS
Go under Securities > Company Information > Corporate Actions
Search for a stock, say DBS Group Holdings Ltd
Some notes:
Not every company pays dividends; Not every dividend-paying company pays a steady stream of dividends. Hence, on top of knowing the dividend yield, it is important to analyse the general stability of a stock's dividend payout. The company’s ability to make regular or steadily increasing cash dividends over time not only gives us confidence in receiving a regular income stream, it is also an indication of confidence in the company’s future business prospects.
It is worth adding some dividend-paying stocks to your stock portfolio, as it balances your portfolio especially in times of market downturns or market uncertainty. They are typically stocks of well-established and stable companies in mature industries with modest growth opportunities.
