What is a Lim & Tan trust account?
A trust account is a custodial account. If you have a Lim & Tan trading account, you automatically have a Lim & Tan trust account. Any excess funds that you have previously transferred would have gone to your trust account. Similarly, purchases and contra losses can be deducted from your trust account balance.
Currently, the trust account earns an interest rate of 0.65% per annum (wef 01 June 2020). The above interest rate is calculated on a daily rest basis and credited at the end of the month.
The Trust Money is regulated under the Securities and Futures Act issued by MAS and as such, this money is secured in all circumstances.
To start earning the interest, simply transfer funds to your trust account as though you are making a payment to Lim & Tan. The payment methods can be in the form of:
EPS (Electronic Payment for Shares)
Via ATM or internet-banking. Select under Investment Services > EPS > Lump sum payment. Do allow 1 day for EPS Funds Transfer. That means, if you wish for the funds to reach us by the next working day, please make your payment before cut-off time 8pm.
Internet Banking
On your internet banking platform, go to "Payments", then click "Bill Payment" and look for "Add a New Payee". Look for Lim & Tan Securities and add us as Payee. Under Consumer Reference number, please put your Lim & Tan trading account number.
Similarly, please make your payment before cut-off time 8pm for the funds to reach us by the next day.

Cheque-Deposit
Please make a cross-cheque payable to Lim & Tan Securities Pte Ltd, and write your account number at the back of the cheque. You can drop a quick cheque deposit at any of our bank accounts (check with Lyndell on the account number).

Withdraw funds easily:
Funds can easily be withdrawn via the "Trust Account Withdrawal" Tab on the platform. That means you will not be restricted by fixed deposit dates.
